You might want to revisit a Reel you liked in the past for many reasons. It could be an informative post with data you want to check on again. Or maybe you simply want to share a funny video meme with your best friend.

Whatever the case, rewatching video content you liked in the past is pretty easy. Here’s how to find liked reels on Instagram, step by step:

1. Open the Instagram app and click your profile icon on the bottom-right of the screen.

2. Click the hamburger menu icon (those three horizontal lines) on the top-right of your profile.

3. Under How you use Instagram, tap Your activity.

4 Tips To Make It Easier To Rewatch Cool IG Reels Later

Picture this—you’re scrolling on Instagram and see an awesome, thought-provoking, entertaining Reel. You watch it a few times, throw your head back laughing, and then scroll past it to watch other videos.

But then, days later, you remember the Reel you enjoyed and want to find again. You go through the steps above only to realize you never hit the heart icon on said Reel. What do you do?

There’s nothing more frustrating than not being able to find a Reel you want to see again on Instagram. Not everyone has the habit of liking every post they find relevant to them. So, how are you supposed to find old Reels you liked and rewatch them whenever you like?

Here are four tips that can make it easier to go back to these Reels without having to like them.

1. Save the Reel and Add It To a Custom Collection

Consider making a habit of saving or “bookmarking” Reels that you really enjoy. You can even group certain Reels together in custom collections. This allows you to revisit all your saved Reels that fall within a specific topic or category you choose. Here’s how to do that in a few simple steps:

1. Open the Instagram app and find the Reel you want to save.

2. Click the three dots on the side of the screen. It should be underneath the Share button.

3. Select Save.

4. If you have an existing collection you want to save it in, click on it. If not, select New collection.

5. On the next page, name your new collection. We recommend naming your collections something simple and aligned to your interests, like “fitness” or “tech.”

6. Finally, click Done.

Now, you can go to your saved posts and find this Reel in your custom collection.

2. Send It To a Friend (or Even To Yourself!) on a DM

Another way to keep a Reel you enjoy within reach is by sending it to a friend over a direct message (DM). When you send an Instagram Reel to a friend, you store that video within your conversation thread. So, if you wish to see it again, you can return to your direct messages and find it there.

It’s also a great way to spark conversation with them about cool content related to your friends’ interests. You get easy access to Reels, which you might want to rewatch while engaging with your friends.

Here’s how you can send a Reel to someone on Instagram:

1. Find the Reel you want to send to someone.

2. Click the paper plane icon on the right side of the screen.

3. Choose which user to send the Reel to based on Instagram’s top suggestions. You can also use the search bar to find the right user.

4. Finally, click Send.

3. Share It To Your Instagram Stories So It Ends Up on Your Archive

You can also share a Reel to your Instagram Stories. This is an awesome way to show entertaining, impactful content to your followers without posting anything new yourself. At the same time, the Reels you share will also go straight to your Instagram archive when the Story expires. That way, you can access them easily by heading to the archive if you need to rewatch them.

Here’s how to share a Reel to your Stories in a few easy steps:

1. Open the Reel you’d like to share on your Story.

2. Click the paper plane icon.

3. Instead of sharing it with someone, click Add to story at the bottom of the page.

4. Customize how you want to present the Reel on your Story. Add stickers, captions, music, and more.

5. Click Your story to share it publicly or Close friends to share it only with your inner circle.

Once that Story expires, you will be able to see the shared Reel post in your archive. You can access that in your settings.

4. Download the Reel With a Third-Party App

Are you not a fan of any of the built-in features on Instagram that can help you access Reels you enjoyed before? Try using a reputable third-party Reels downloader!

There are tons of downloaders available on the internet. Their MO is the same across the board. All you have to do is enter the URL of a public Reel, and the downloader fetches it for you. After that, it generates a download link for the video. Then, you can download the Reel straight to your device to have an offline copy of it forever.

How To Hide Liked Reels on Instagram

There are many reasons why you might want to learn how to hide liked Reels on Instagram. Perhaps you don’t want others to know that you like sensitive or political content. Or maybe you’re just a private person who doesn’t like strangers in your business—which is totally valid!

Sadly, there’s no way to hide that you’ve liked certain posts. When you like a Reel, the poster gets a notification about it. Plus, anyone who can see that video can check who has liked it.

They’ll see a message underneath that Reel that says something to the tune of “Liked by [username] and x others.” If they follow you, your handle might appear here. They can also simply pull up the list of likers, where your name will appear.

Can’t See Likes on Instagram Reels: How To See Like Count on Videos

Are you wondering why you can’t see likes on Instagram Reels? That’s probably because the owner of the Reel has chosen to hide their Like counter. That means no one besides them can see the total number of likes on their post.

Many people choose to hide their Reels’ like count to reduce pressure on themselves to drive tons of likes. This also helps viewers focus on the content rather than a Reel’s popularity.

Of course, you can simply click Likes underneath the heart icon on a Reel. While this doesn’t tell you the total likes count, it shows you the list of people who liked the post. This is a terrific way to see if people you know liked the Reel.

If you really must see the total like count of a Reel, consider using a third-party Like counter, like Phlanx. You simply give the tool the URL to any public post or Reel you want. Then, it counts the total likes for you, even if the owner has chosen to hide the in-app like count.
